Five voices… each of them with a different tonality, but together creating a harmonious sound… bright and spiritual appearances, traditional costumes, in the best traditions of the Moldovan folklore – the quintet Surorile Osojanu own a special charm and light up our hearts.
The sisters Ileana, Iulia, Valentina, Romela and Maria Osojanu are the members of the ethno-folkloric ensemble “Tsalankutsa” – honored collective of Republic of Moldova, artistic director – Andrei Tamazlacaru. They are born in Horesti village, Falesti region – the North/West of Moldova. They graduated from the music schools from their place and then they obtained higher education. Their repertoire includes these types of songs: Easter songs, party songs, lullabies, love songs, Christmas carols, ballads, doina-s, invocation songs and others.
Osojianu sisters participated in some movies and TV shows, like „Talancuta”,1983; director Constantin Croitoru – „Talancuta” musical, 1986; director Anatol Codru – „Lerui-ler, panzele dalbe” musical,1990; regizor Tudor Tătaru – full length artistic musical.
They toured in Baltic countries, Romania, Germany, France, Spain, Finland, Bulgaria and Russia. Decorations: Youth Republican Award 1997. Besides their artistic activity within the ”Talancuta” ensemble, each of them conducts children and youth folkloric collectives.
The band “Zdob si Zdub” got acquainted with Osojanu sisters and their work in 2003. Together they recorded two songs: “DJ Vasile” and “Miorita”. Surorile Osoianu also participate in the videos made for these songs. Often Osoianu sisters open the “Zdob si Zdub” concerts, thus creating a spiritual atmosphere that makes us be aware of the depth of our people’s roots. Their last performances in “Zdob si Zdub” concerts presentations of their new album - “Ethnomecanica” in Bucharest (Romania), Cisinau (Moldova) and Moscow (Russia) , December 2006. |
